Weighing In: Spencer is 3 Weeks Old!

Happy 3 Weeks my Sweet Boy!

Where is the time going? Spencer was 3 weeks yesterday (3-24-10)! We had a great day!

Although Bill is out of town this week for work in Vegas (I know poor baby, right?) we have been getting by back at home. Bill's sister Caren came into town last minute to help out so even though we miss daddy very very much we have kept busy despite sleep deprivation on my part! I keep telling Bill on the phone that I see a spa day in my future :-)

Spencer had to go to the pediatrician yesterday for a weight check. Normally you do not need to see the pediatrician at 3 weeks but since he had not reached his birth weight at his 2 week appointment the doctor just wanted to make sure he was back on track at 3 weeks! He weighed in at 8lb 4 oz! Almost gaining 14 oz in a week! Personally, I feel like the scale was off at our 2 week appointment and I think it was probably more like a gain of 11 oz but in any event, I am glad that he is back on track! Now we don't have to go back to the doctor until his 2 month check up! I still feel like as a new mom the hardest part is knowing that I am feeding him enough or not giving him too much. I realize the signs are easy...if he cries or roots he wants more and if he spits up it was too much but I still struggle with this part! He is gaining just fine now so I assume I am doing everything just fine.

After his weight check Aunt Caren and I took Spencer for his first walk! It was beautiful outside and we decided a stroll around the neighborhood was definitely needed. I can't wait for many more walks to come!

With Spencer growing more and more each day, I am finally able to put a few 0-3 month size outfits and onsies on him. Some, but not all. We were able to start to wear some of the handmade onsies that everyone made for me at my Maryland baby shower. Spencer is modeling the onsie that cousin Natalie made for him!

We are so excited to see Daddy (Bill) tonight! I know I have missed him so much and I know Spencer has too! Our family has been such a tremendous help and as much as we have loved having all of them here on and off for the past 3 weeks, I know Bill and I are looking forward to settling in to being a family of 3 plus (Mia of course) all by ourselves.
