Happy Halloween From The Gordons!

We have been SUPER busy the past few weeks and cannot wait to post updates on everything we have been up to but for now we just wanted to wish everyone a VERY SAFE & HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Trick or Treat!

Pumpkin Patch Palooza!

I mentioned before how much I love Fall. Well, it's not Fall without the pumpkin patch!

Spencer and I visited a local church with our playgroup last week to check out their selection of pumpkins and to snap a few pictures of the babies with the pumpkins. Not your "traditional" trip to the pumpkin patch but we still got some fun pictures.

Just two days later we took our Annual trip to BURTS FARM with the Summerfield's. I think this was our 3rd year going all together and this year we had Spencer to join in the fun! It was a beautiful fall day and we got to Burts very early beating most of the crowds which was wonderful. After the hay ride, shopping in the market, and snapping a million pictures we had a picnic lunch and enjoyed the day! Somehow Burts Farm NEVER gets old! I just love it :-)

When Did I Take That Picture?

Over the past few months I have been snapping pictures randomly on my cell phone but I always forget to upload them to Facebook or the blog. It was not unil I pulled video off my phone earlier this week that I saw how many cell phone pics I really had!

Bill and I just wanted to send out another HUGE Thank You to EVERYONE (all 98) of you that voted for Spencer the Scarecrow. He won the Halloween Photo Contest! He would not have won without all of your votes so we are very thankful and we will be so excited to share the pics of his photo shoot with Kristin once we actually schedule it.

We know Facebook contests and games can be super annoying at times but we had fun with this friendly competition and are very glad you all decided to participate for us. We hope to return the favor for all of you someday.

For those of you who did not know Kristin with Bloom Photography before this competition, she is an amazing photographer. You will be happy you "liked" her. Through the years we have maintained various relationships with different photographers in the area and we love them all. We are very excited to work with Kristin again soon.

These videos are a few weeks old but I still smile every time I see them. Spencer has really found his voice these days and he loves to scream (happily of course) and say DA-DA. We try to engage him each time he starts to blabber because each time we hear a better "story". I swear, each day he changes more and more.

One Last Plea, PLEASE VOTE!

On a whim, I entered Spencer into a Halloween photo contest sponsored by a local photographer Kristin Leigh. She captured our beautiful newborn photographs and we love them! The rules were to submit a non-professional photo your your little one dressed for Halloween and then through Facebook, fans of her photography page could vote for their favorite picture. The prize for the most votes is a FREE mini session with Kristin. Now that may not seem like much for some but photography is expensive and if we can win a session, I am going for it :-)

Voting started last Sunday night and ends this Sunday! We NEED VOTES! We came out strong and took the lead early but we have some serious competition. The little mermaid is super close to capturing the lead with only 6 votes separating us!

I know everyone is super annoyed with my Facebook posts and pleas to vote so I thought I would post on here too just for good measure. If you have not voted, please do! If you have and just know someone who will vote, please tell them to.

The Posh Tots-A New Found Treasure on Etsy

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Etsy? Well, if not, for the record, I love Etsy!

I shop many stores on the site but most recently, I came across The Posh Tots Store on Etsy and fell in love with one of the ribbon/taggy blankets that was for sale. I ordered it for Spencer and when it arrived I cannot tell you how excited both Spencer and I were!

Spencer already has a cuddle friend blanket that we call "Hippy" but he absolutely loves TAGS and we had a feeling that a taggy blanket might be a better fit for his lovie at this age.

I know I could have probably made my own blanket or had someone show me how to make my own (and I still might) but this one was extra special to me because of the fabric. The print of the fabric was the very same print of the baby shower invitations my Sister had tracked down for my shower in Maryland. She fell in love with the paper when she found it and once I saw it, I did too. Little did we know there was fabric out there in the same print!

The blanket was beautiful and very well made! Each ribbon was so unique giving Spencer many textures to choose from. He sleeps with it for all his naps and when he falls asleep at night. It is a huge hit! We often find him in his crib just playing with the tags. Thanks The Posh Tots! We love our new blanket.

The seller is amazing with communicating and she will create almost anything for you. We have gone ahead an ordered a "stroller sized" blanket for Spencer in the same print since we love it so much! I highly recommend The Posh Tots to anyone looking for a specialty gift.

Spencer's Newest Hobby

Spencer loves getting the mail lately. Why you might ask? He loves to shred all the "junk" mail and magazines! It's almost as good as the table paper at the doctor's office :-) Seriously, who needs all these expensive toys when we have magazines!

Apple Goodness

Last weekend we took the first of our fall family trips to Ellijay to visit one of the many apple orchards there. Although going on the weekend made for a crowded orchard, we had gorgeous weather and plenty of apples to choose from. Can't ask for more then that! We have so many apples so if anyone knows of some great apple goodness recipes please let me know.

Happy Fall Ya'll

It's October! Welcome Fall! The weather is starting to cool down, the trees are starting to change, and the Gordon's are bringing in Fall!



I absolutely love this time of year! From the yummy scents and tasty treats of the season to the awesome scarf accessories to trips to the pumpkin patches and orchards. I love it ALL!

I spent a few hours on Wednesday getting the house decorated and loved every minute. Spencer and I even had some fun trying on his new winter hat to get in the mood for the cooler weather. Not quite time for the hats yet but we still had fun :-)



So much to look forward to this month it's unreal! We have two trips to the pumpkin patch planned, a trip to the apple orchards in North Georgia, a visit home to MD for the Army Ten Miler Race, a chili cook off in our neighborhood, cheering on our Auburn Tigers, and of course, Spencer's first Halloween! Life is good :-)
