More 6 Month Photos!

Last week we got our pics back from our photo session with Kim at Alea Moore Photography! We love AMP and used them in the past for our maternity pics! Kim always does an amazing job but I have to admit I was super nervous this time because it was SO HOT and HUMID out the day we had our photo session. For those of you that know me well, that equals one bad hair day for me! BUT, lets be honest, this session was about little Spencer and our only hope was to get a few family shots so what did my hair really matter???? Kim, we love them! They are wonderful. Thank you for capturing these special moments in our lives.

I have put a few together in collages so they are easier to view but they are even more precious as individual prints. With close to 300 photos to choose from, here are some of my favs.......

Half Birthday Fun!

With pictures and Dr. appointments behind us, we spent labor day weekend celebrating Spencer's Half Birthday! We had gorgeous weather the entire weekend so we made sure to take advantage and spend plenty of time outside.

We enjoyed a family day at the pool on Saturday and then on Sunday Kelly and Carter met us at Webb Bridge Park for relaxing afternoon where the both Spencer and Carter could celebrate their half birthdays :-)

6 Months Strong

Is is really possible that I have a 6 month old? Seriously?

Spencer turned 6 months old on 9.3.10. We actually had his 6 month Dr. visit on his actually birthday ( I know, no way to celebrate). Spencer weighed in at 17lb 4 oz and 26.5 inches. That puts him in the 55th and 47th percentiles respectively! Spencer also passed his vision test with flying colors! Spencer made shots look like a breeze this time only crying after the 3rd one! Such a brave little guy :-) Overall it was a great visit and the doctor was very pleased with his growth and development.

Here's a quick update on Spencer this month:
- Sitting up unassisted and playing
- Going from the sitting position to his belly while reaching for toys
- Eating 1-2 "solid" food meals a day. His favs are bananas, apples, pears, squash and green beans. Really so far he likes everything but sweet potatoes.
- Takes 4 bottles a day
- Takes 2-3 naps per day. Three if mommy is lucky :-)

- He still loves "The wheels on the bus" and the "ABC's"

- He got his first tooth on 9.11.10

- Is very ticklish on the sides of his belly

- He is obsessed with his doggy Mia! He smiles whenever she is around and he loves to "pet" her.

- He still will not roll over. Will not, I tell ya.
- He loves to chew on anything he can get is hands on

- He will reach and grab for whatever is in arms reach
I know I am probably forgetting a million things but I think that's a great start :-)

We had two sets of 6 month photos taken. First, we had a session with Kim with Alea Moore Photography. I love Kim's work ( she actually shot our maternity pics) and I cannot wait to see them. She took family shots as well as shots of just Spencer. My only wish was that it was not so hot and humid the morning we had our session. We were sweating so badly, I am surprised if I had any makeup on by the end of the session and talk about a bad hair day :-) I know Kim and she probably got some great shots regardless :-) I will post them as soon as I get them!
We also decided to get some studio shots taken that were more formal. Here are a few from that session.

Happy Half Birthday Spencie! I only wish you knew how much joy you bring me each and every day!

Houston, We Have a Tooth!

After three days of pure crankiness, my mommy intuitions were right! Spencer cut his first tooth. From what I have been told, the second is probably not far behind :-(
It's way to small to take a photo yet but you can definitely feel that sharp little thing. The past few days had been so rough because I felt like there was nothing I could do to make my little guy happy. I kept checking each day for a tooth but nothing until today! Bill and I were running some quick errands and during a fussy moment that Spencer was having, I thought I was swipe my finger across his gums and there it was! A sharp little tooth :-)

Yay! Spencer. Who knew a little tooth could make a mommy so happy :-)

S-P-E-N-C-E-R

Yes, six months later, Spencer finally has his wall letters up in his nursery. I always new we would place wall letters above Spencer's crib but I could not decide what I wanted. And to be honest, as the months went on the decision got harder. Did I want prints, solids, decals, initials??????

After months of indecisiveness, I decided to paint wooden letters myself! With that said, solid was the only option :-) I am happy with this decision because then I can always paint over them if I want to use them in a big boy room down the road. I started out with spray paint but found that latex paint samples from Home Depot were the way to go. I still need to work on the hanging ribbons. I don't love them but they will do for now. I am just happy they made it on the wall. I have to get a better shot with the mobile in the way but you get the point :-)

Baby Brigade Takes On The Georgia Aquarium

On Tuesday, Spencer and I took our first "Field Trip" with our friends. We visited the GA Aquarium! Spencer and I had gone with our family back in May and even 4 months later, I am not sure he enjoyed it as much as I did but it was a great day out and I look forward to going back as Spencer grows so he can enjoy it more too!
Check it out....Spencer used his "Big Boy"stroller for the first time on this outing....as a matter of fact, all the babies were in their forward facing strollers! I can't believe how fast they are growing!

Next field trip......THE ZOO!

Are You Ready for Some Football?

In honor of the start of football season I could not resist. These are a few shots from one of Spencer's 6 month photo shoots.

My Very Own Chair

Making progress with solids has been great but of course that led to yet another baby item we needed to purchase......A highchair!

Spencer had his first meal in his very own chair a few nights ago! I am happy to report, he loves it!

Big Boy Wheels

Spencer's Big Boy Stroller has arrived and we love it! We decided to get the Peg Perego Pliko P3 in Tropical! After much research and many recommendations we felt this stroller will be a great fit for us and from what we hear, will last forever!

So many have asked me why do we need another stroller?

Although Spencer still fits in his infant carrier which can be used with the travel system and snap and go we have, this stroller is a welcomed arrival for the mere fact that we don't always have to lug the carrier with us anymore if we don't want to (it's getting real heavy these days). For certain errands or walks, we can just grab Spencer out of his carrier and just use the stroller and go! My back feels better just thinking about not lugging the carrier :-)

Next step is to transition to a big boy car seat. It's sitting in a box in our guest room waiting for him but I just don't think we are ready to make that switch just yet.

Tushie-Time

With Summer almost coming to and end and the pools closing for the season, we decided to have one last playgroup pool date! I cannot believe have fast the summer has gone and how much fun we had had with all of the "photo shoots" on our pool dates. This photo that Kelly took in my opinion may have taken the cake and won "Best Pool Pic of the Summer of 2010"

Thanks Kelly for the cute shot...I am sure these little ones will just love to see this when they are older :-)
